Are you practicing good heart health? Getting tested and knowing your cholesterol number, is an important step toward a healthy heart. A cholesterol screening measures your level of HDL and LDL. HDL is the good cholesterol which helps keep the LDL, or bad cholesterol, from getting lodged into your artery walls. Too much of one type or not enough of another can put you at risk for Coronary Heart Disease, Heart Attack, or Stroke. To learn more about cholesterol visit https://www.cdc.gov/cholesterol/about.htm

Back to School Bus Safety
Summer is almost over and school will soon be back in session. School buses are still the safest way for for kids to travel, but National Safety Council data shows that most children killed in bus incidents are pedestrians hit by the bus, or drivers illegally passing it. All drivers can help make sure our kids make it to school safely. Stop when the arm of the bus is extended and make sure you are far enough away to allow safe entry and exit. Never try to pass a school bus when children are getting on and off. To learn more about back to school safety, visit NSC.org/BackToSchool.
